Prior to establishing Barone & Associates, LLC, Michael was a Managing Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and Huron Consulting Group. At both firms he was responsible for driving the growth, development and delivery of internal audit services and broader business advisory services in the higher education and other not-for-profit industries.
Before entering professional services, Michael was employed at Harvard University for thirteen years, initially as a director of research administration financial services and then as director of internal audit. Previously, he was an assistant Controller at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Michael is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Institute of Internal Auditors. He is a past president of the Association of College and University Auditors and past member of the Costing Policies Committee of the Council on Government Relations. Michael is also a frequent presenter at various higher education industry conferences.
Randy is a Certified Public Accountant with ten years of financial management and risk consulting experience across industries, including: consumer industrial products, technology, financial services, higher education, and not-for-profits. She has extensive project based experience in external and internal audits, financial reporting, contract reviews, internal controls, business process reviews, and enterprise risk management.
Randy has been a Senior Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where she was responsible for developing and implementing the marketing plan to build Boston's Strategic Risk Services practice. Prior to her promotion to Senior Manager, she served as a Manager in the Audit and Assurance Group as well as served a vital internal role as the Manager of Business Analysis during Coopers & Lybrand's merger with Price Waterhouse.
With Barone & Associates, LLC, Randy has served as interim management at a prominent research institute, provided enterprise risk management services to a private college, and led a project team comprised of client employees to facilitate a business process review ($8B in assets) involving three core departments.
Dan has over 25 years of progressive experience in financial management, accounting, internal audit and operations. Dan is a technically proficient CPA with proven leadership, team building and results focused project management skills.
Dan has been an audit manager and advisory services director at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and a senior manager of enterprise risk services at Deloitte & Touche, LLP. Clients served include the following industries: large retail chains, higher education, financial services and healthcare companies. Dan's private industry experience includes chief audit executive at Dunkin Brands, Stride Rite Corporation and Shaw's Supermarkets, Inc. His financial management experience includes assistant Controller at Telco Systems, Inc. and Controller at American Environmental Group.
With Barone & Associates, LLC, Dan has served as an interim Controller at a prominent research institute and has provided internal audit services to the research administration arm of a major public university system.
Deloris has senior executive level experience with research administration, audit, risk management, global project management and finance. She is a proven strategic thinker with a strong track record of visionary leadership and change management skills.
In her thirteen years, at Harvard University Deloris served as Director of Risk Management and Audit Services, Associate Vice President for Sponsored Programs Administration, and Director of the $70 million PEPFAR (AIDS) program transition initiative at the School of Public Health. Previously, she held audit leadership positions at Digital Equipment Corporation, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority and as head of bank regulatory reporting at Bank of Boston. Earlier in her career, Deloris was a market analyst at NASDAQ and a senior accountant with KPMG.
